PRAIRIE COUNCIL ON AGING is happy to employ 5 types of positions

BA and experience required either in the programs or management, Masters preferred. Full time salaried. Responsible for meeting program standards and hiring, training, and HR aspects of staff, including continuing education.

BA required, Masters preferred in social work or related fields Psych, Sociology, RN. Full time salaried.

Responsibilities include face-to-face comprehensive assessments of people 60 years old or older. Coordination of social services and certifications in both the Community Care Program and Adult Protective Services (see Programs page at this website). Investigations of Abuse of those older adults as well as 18- to 59-year-old people with disabilities.

High School or equivalent, BA preferred. 4-5 days a week HOURLY. Responsibilities vary from program Billing to Senior Health Insurance program certification. These staff members help people with all sorts of online applications (Medicare part D and reduced license plates) and information. Answer phones and are frontline staff whatever the need.

There are 11 sites with part time (3-4 hours/M-F/ 10am-1pm) HOURLY minimum wage. Responsibilities include breaking bulk food from a caterer into individual servings and prepare for volunteers to distribute daily. Document who ate all meals and order for the next day. Also assess participants annually.

Prairie Council on Aging is hiring for two positions:

Meals on Wheels/Bread of Love Site Manager receives bulk food from a caterer and breaks it into single servings of hot ready to eat meals for at home seniors. Most locations have volunteers delivering but you may be need to also.

There are 11 sites across 3 counties (Morgan, Cass and Scott), and we are looking for both regular part time help M,T & Th, Fri OR Substitutes who will fill in when site managers take sick or vacation time off. Current positions for Site Managers and SUBS in Jacksonville at Laborers Home, Winchester and Ashland sites. Subs usually become site managers and we would like several SUBS hired NOW as well.

Responsibilities are to fill out the order form for number of meals next day, record who ate today and follow sanitation rules. We train you. HS diploma or GED required and a friendly personality to all ages.

Prairie Council would like to put people to work NOW or 2 weeks from NOW.

Prairie Council on Aging (PCOA) has a full-time CASE MANAGER position in the Jacksonville Office. Responsibilities assessing needs for elderly clients, and coordinating services, and investigating abuse of seniors and people with disabilities. Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology or sociology, RN or other related fields required. Computer literacy a must. Email nancyt@pcaging.com
